Riecine
Riecine was originally owned by a nearby monastery until the 20th century, in fact the church archives from 1112 A.D. provide the earliest known record of the wine farm called Riecine. Is very close to excavations of an Etruscan township. It is possible that wine has been produced in the hills around Riecine even before the XII century.
Riecine is located in the heart of Tuscany, 60 km South-East of Florence, 35 km North-East of Siena, in the community of Gaiole in Chianti. Riecine vineyards are among the finest of Chianti Classico area.
For many decades Riecine winery has maintained the reputation of a true Sangiovese specialist.
Riecine is to be the ultimate combination of the natural fruits of the earth and man’s creative endeavour. From grape to glass Riecine is to be produced without compromise.
Riecine owes its legend and history to the generations of winemakers since Etruscan times that have cultivated wines on our ancient soil. So today we must be an active contributor to the community of our region, and a supporter of the Chianti Classico appellation.

Toscana
The name of Tuscany is synonymous with its most famous, and probably Italy’s most famous, red wine. Chianti is produced in high volumes and exported worldwide, with a distinctive personality that is difficult to define but that has somehow impressed consumers all over the world. The Sangiovese grape is the key to the region’s success, as the backbone of DOCG wines in Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Carmignano. Yet the region’s prestige is today further enhanced by the evolution of the “Super Tuscan”, wines that now rank among some of Italy’s most refined. Failing to slot into any existing DOC or DOCG category, they are now largely classed as Toscana IGT in order to avoid the humble Vino da Tavola category.
